Blessed with outstanding soils, an abundance of sunlight during the growing season and a cool climate that lends itself to growing wines with incredible freshness and depth of flavour, Ontario Canada produces some of the most exciting and unique wines in the world from Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot Noir, Gamay and many other grape varieties and styles. While small by global standards, Ontario is Canada’s largest wine growing region and, surprising to many, located at the same latitude as Tuscany and Oregon. The result is low production wines with low to moderate alcohol, depth of flavour and immense drinkability and food versatility. What better way to showcase these wines than paired with the outstanding cuisine of James Beard Award-winning chef Chintan Pandya at Masalawala in Brooklyn, named one of 2023’s best new restaurants in the world by Condé Nast Traveler. This will be an exclusive opportunity for New Yorkers to discover what makes the wines of Ontario so special and also to experience the regionality of Indian cuisine and dispel, once and for all, the myth that you cannot pair wine with Indian food.
Two different events will showcase the wines and the food. Presented in collaboration with Unapologetic Foods and VQA Wines of Ontario/Wine Country Ontario.
